As China opens up more and more - the Chinese people are much more receptive and familiar with global culture than ever before. They watch the same films, they play the same games and enjoy the same social activities.
But then they have a whole set of Chinese games, Chinese movies and Chinese music that is virtually unknown outside of China.
If you get familiar, even a small taste, of those uniquely Chinese forms of entertainment, you're going to have a lot more fun Chinese dating.

For example, the most popular card game in China is called "Stick it to the man" (or Fight the Landlord). It's Chinese name is Dou Di Zhu.
And outside of China, it's virtually unknown.
Inside China - it's huge! Every time I see a store clerk or customer service rep busy working away at a terminal, I sneak a peek at their monitor. And more often than not they are playing online "Stick it to the man".
If you learn how to play this game, you instantly have something in common with your Chinese friends. She'll not only be surprised and impressed that you know the game - you'll also have something in common that you can do together.
And if you like that game, Ba Shi Fen (also known as Tractor) is another fun card game commonly played in China.

What's different about Chinese Bars, nightclubs and restaurants? The biggest difference is the amount of live entertainment.
It's common to see live musicians at a restaurant - especially at Western style restaurants. Clubs usually have dancing and singing acts as well as an open dance floor. One crowded Chinese disco features a Chinese bodybuilder who does a nightly muscle show.
It's not like dating someone in China is totally different that dating someone from anyplace else. It's just that they might do something that you find completely unusual - but it's common practice in China.
Like what? Well, it surprised me the first time I saw a server mixing Sprite with the red wine. But for many people in China, this is their drink of choice. When you think about it, it's not so far removed from a wine cooler.
And believe it or not, chewy, dried strands of squid are a popular Chinese bar food.
One of the most popular games in Chinese nightclubs is called “Liars Dice”. It's easy to learn, it's fun and it's a fast way to make friends. Especially if you let your opponent win (at least at first).
“Liars Dice” is great for new visitors to China because you don't need to speak any Chinese to play the game and to have fun.
