The Chinese Language School (TCLS) is a non-profit and non-political educational institution. Their doors are open to all, regardless of race, religion, or national origin. The purpose of The Chinese Language School is:
- to teach Chinese language
- to introduce Chinese culture
- and to provide youth-oriented Chinese culture activities and other relevant Chinese programs
- help children of Chinese descent to better understand and appreciate their Chinese culture and heritage
- provide those of a non-Chinese background with an opportunity to study the Chinese language and develop a deeper understanding of the Chinese culture
The Chinese Language School is a school for pursuing knowledge, moral principles, and teamwork. This will be accomplished through providing Chinese cultural activities and relevant programs for youths, which include Chinese flute (Dizi), arts and crafts, Chinese folk dance, Painting, Kung-Fu, and more.
The Chinese Language School is a school for the entire family. They encourage parents to also participate in the school's affairs and activities.
While children are in their Chinese language class, parents can take Tai-Chi, Yoga, or ErHu lessons or play basketball and other sports. They also offer special seminars and adult Chinese language classes for student parents.
