The Mandarin Chinese School was established in 1997 as a non-profit, educational organization by a group of local residents. It is the only school in Arlington, Texas. It offers lessons in teaching Pinyin (phonics system), Putonghua (Mandarin) and Jianhuazi (simplified Chinese characters), and also classes in painting, calligraphy, science and math.
They have ten Chinese classes, plus three levels of math classes and art classes.
The School only teaches children up to 10th grade and its main aim is to introduce Chinese culture both to Chinese immigrants and Americans who are interested in the Chinese culture.
Also the school is a member of the Chinese School Association in the United States, and many of the staff at the school are well-trained.
