The Washington School of Chinese Language and Culture (WSCLC) is a non-profit organization founded in 1986 by five Montgomery County families. The goal of the Washington School of Chinese Language and Culture is to provide an innovative learning environment that emphasizes the Chinese culture and language for Chinese American students.
They hope their students will grow to be better citizens of this diversified society. They want to create mutual understanding and bonds between Chinese Americans and other ethnic groups.

The Washington School of Chinese Language and Culture grew from 120 students in nine classes to over three hundred students in twenty-two classes.
Their student body has an age range between three and eighteen and assembles over three hundred families around the Montgomery County area.
Classes also feature hands-on activities such as Chinese calligraphy, Chinese chess, Chinese yo-yo, Chinese go, folk arts and crafts, folk dance, Chinese martial arts and others.
Washington School of Chinese Language and Culture also provides a variety of extra-curriculum activities before and after class for both students and parents.

Classes are taught by our experienced, devoted, and friendly staff with excellent bilingual communicative skills.
Their goal is to help non-Mandarin speaking students enjoy learning Chinese in a happy environment.
