West Suburban Chinese Language School was founded by Chinese families living in eastern DuPage County, Illinois, for the purpose of teaching Chinese language (Mandarin) and Chinese culture to young people.
The School is a non-profit organization, funded primarily by participating members and families. All members are required to volunteer time and services for various school activities. Over the years, the school has developed into a quality language and culture center, equipped to serve all residents in the area regardless of age or ethnicity. The school is also a member of the Midwest Chinese Language School Association.
The course is taught in three language levels over two 16-week semesters per year. The teachers are proficient in both Chinese and English, and have extensive experience in teaching Chinese at the secondary or university level in Taiwan or China.
